FAQ

Pricing, downgrades, data export, account deletion, agents, AI credits, the Feedback Hub. Quick answers to common questions.

The questions that come up most often. If you're stuck on something not covered here, the docs are organised by topic in the sidebar, start with Getting started or jump to the relevant section.

Pricing and billing

Why is pricing flat per account instead of per-seat?

Per-seat pricing punishes small teams for adding members. Frostbyte is built for groups of 2–10 developers; a flat per-account model means you can add a junior dev or a designer without your bill jumping. The whole team gets the same access for one price.

Are there any hidden fees or per-call AI charges?

No. AI usage is included through your monthly credit pool, so there is no separate per-call fee or surprise usage bill. Individual actions use credits based on the model and the amount of text processed; Frostbyte shows a typical estimate before each action. See Billing & credits for pool sizes and reset dates.

What happens if I downgrade and I'm over the new tier's limits?

You stay on the higher tier's limits until the end of your current billing cycle, then drop to the new tier. If you're over-cap on the new tier, Frostbyte doesn't auto-remove members or projects, your existing data is intact, but new creations are blocked until you fit under the cap or upgrade back. See Billing & credits.

How do I cancel?

From account settings → Billing → Manage subscription, then cancel from Stripe's hosted portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing cycle.

Data and export

Can I export everything?

Tasks export via CSV import and export. The PDF export gives a visual board snapshot. There's no full-account JSON dump in v1; if you need one for compliance reasons (GDPR right of access, etc.), email support and we'll generate it manually.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. From account settings, click Delete account. Frostbyte permanently removes your user record, your projects (if you're the sole owner), and your project memberships. Activity entries you authored on shared projects are anonymised, they show "Deleted user" rather than your name.

There's no undo. Export to CSV first if you want a backup.

What happens to projects I'm a member of (not the owner) when I delete?

You're removed as a member; the project continues with the remaining members. Your task assignments become unassigned.

Agents and integrations

Are MCP and the plugin included on Free?

No. MCP and the plugin are Indie features. Free accounts can still plan a project, use AI convert-to-task, and host a public bug reporter; agent token generation and MCP calls require Indie or higher. See Plans and limits.

Will using MCP burn my AI credits?

No. MCP is plain database access, no LLM is invoked on Frostbyte's side. AI credits only apply to explicit AI actions such as the release notes generator and convert-to-task. See AI overview.

Can my agent see other users' data?

No. Agents authenticate as you (via your bearer token) and see exactly what you can see in the UI, your projects only.

Email notifications

What emails will Frostbyte send me?

Lifecycle activation (welcome, first-project nudge, return-to-product), email verification at signup, billing alerts (payment failures, trial ending), and invite notifications when you're added to a project. That's it. Frostbyte does not send marketing newsletters.

You can unsubscribe from lifecycle emails via the link at the bottom of any of them. Billing and verification emails can't be unsubscribed (they're required for the account to function).

Feedback Hub

Which plans include community voting?

Indie, Studio, and Enterprise include community voting on public feature submissions. Free keeps the same Feedback Hub and moderation queue in bugs-only mode, so it has no feature submissions to vote on.

Votes are one input, not an automatic priority score. The Public roadmap remains controlled by the project team.

Can I customise the Feedback Hub portal?

Indie and Studio projects get a Frostbyte-hosted subdomain for the Feedback Hub and Public roadmap; Studio can also connect a custom domain. See Feedback Hub domains.

Studio can embed the feedback widget on their own site and remove Frostbyte branding from the public portal. Custom colours and your own logo are still planned.

Anything else

For anything not covered here, check the relevant sidebar section, or reach out via the contact page on the marketing site. The docs are intentionally compact, if a question keeps coming up that isn't here, we'll add it.
